Pink for Fighting Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related deaths among women world-wide. Here’s a snapshot of the situation:

• Over 410,000 deaths worldwide each year involve breast cancer, accounting for 14% of all world-wide female cancer deaths and 1.6% of all world-wide female deaths.
• A woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes.
• Approximately 40,170 women are expected to die from breast cancer in 2009 in the US alone.
• The National Cancer Institute estimates that approximately 2.5 million women alive today have a history of breast cancer.

Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, (and even men) of all ages are battling this cancer, and the threat is growing every year. While today we now have more efficient drugs and diagnostic methods to help combat this disease, there is still much more to be done.
